Travel advice, vaccinations and antimalarials before you go, for wherever you are heading.
Whether you are travelling for business, a holiday, an adventure or to visit family abroad, protecting your health beforehand matters. Emmer Green Pharmacy offers a travel consultation with a trained pharmacist, with vaccinations and antimalarials where they are recommended for your trip.
Before you book
- Everyone travelling needs a consultation first. It is specific to your trip, even if you have been to the same country before or had advice elsewhere.
- Book early. Some courses take weeks or months to complete, so the sooner you come in, the more we can protect you against.
- Bring your vaccination history if you have it, so we can tell what you already have.
What we go through at your consultation
- Where you are going, when, and for how long
- What you will be doing while you are there
- Which vaccinations you have already had
- Any medical conditions and medicines you take
The pharmacist then tells you what they recommend, what it costs, and how long it takes. If we have the vaccine in stock you can usually be vaccinated in the same appointment.
Telling your GP
This is a private service, and we do not routinely notify your GP. After each vaccination we give you a record of the vaccine, batch number and date. We recommend passing this to your GP so your medical record can be updated.
