Prescription-only tablets to prevent malaria, chosen for your destination and your health.
Book a travel clinic appointment
Malaria is a serious infection spread by mosquito bites in many tropical countries. There is no vaccine for travellers; instead, tablets taken before, during and after your trip prevent it. Which tablet is right depends on where you are going, for how long, your health and any other medicines you take.
Getting the right tablets
Our pharmacist can prescribe and supply the tablets after a short consultation, without a GP appointment. Some tablets start the day before travel, others a week or more before; all continue for a period after you return.
Avoiding bites
Tablets are one part of prevention. Insect repellent, covering up after dusk and sleeping under a net all matter too.
Side effects
These differ between tablets and your pharmacist will go through them with you.
Your pharmacist will confirm at your consultation which tablets are recommended for your trip.
