Protection against yellow fever, spread by mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America, with the certificate some countries require.

Book a travel clinic appointment

Yellow fever is a viral infection spread by mosquito bites in parts of Africa and South America. It can be severe. Some countries require an International Certificate of Vaccination to enter, particularly if you are arriving from a country where yellow fever occurs.

The vaccine and certificate

One injection protects most people for life, and the certificate we issue is valid for life. It becomes valid ten days after the injection, so plan ahead.

Who should not have it

The vaccine is not suitable for everyone: babies under nine months, people with a weakened immune system, and some people over sixty need individual advice. Your pharmacist will go through this with you, and can issue an exemption letter where vaccination is not advised.

Side effects

A sore arm, headache or mild aches for a few days are common. Serious reactions are rare.

Your pharmacist will confirm at your consultation whether this vaccine is recommended for your trip.
